The 3rd Maritime Silk Road Port International Cooperation Forum which is the important part of the China Maritime Forum was held on July 11-12, 2017 in Ningbo China. More than 400 participants from 30 countries attended the forum.
Mr. Santiago Mila, the President of IAPH and Mr. FEI Weijun, the Secretary General of APSN attended the forum as Moderators and chair the presentation session and interactive session. Many distinguished speakers made excellent presentations: Mr. Zhang Xiaojie, Vice Director of International Cooperation Department, MOT, China; Mr. Santiago Mila, the President of IAPH; Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, the Former Minister of Transport Malaysia; Mr. Mao Jianhong, President of Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group, China; Mr. Li Yubin, Deputy General-Manager, China Merchants Port Holdings; and other distinguished speakers from famous company in the world. The presentations focused on the topics: Seaports Integration, Returning the Maritime Industry to Health, Smart Port, Terminal Operators Oversea Projects under One Belt and One Road and so on. In the interactive session, participants used the mobile phones to vote on the topics: The Global Economy in the Next 3-5 Years; The Freight Rate Over the Next 2 Years, The Size of the Container Ship and other hot topics. After the voting, two experts shared their opinions about the topics. All the participants share their ideas and exchange opinions in the forum.
Because of One Belt and One Road Initiative, many ports along the New Silk Road actively attend the Maritime Silk Road Port International Cooperation Forum and want to have the opportunity to make a presentation in the forum. The forum is becoming a platform for the ports along the Silk Road to communicate and cooperate with each other.
